Waterkwartier inwoners slachtoffer van inbrekers door eigen fout
112 | Het zogenaamde waterkwartier is een aantal jaren geleden in het leven geroepen om awareness te creëren omtrent stromend water in Zutphen. Tijdens dit kwartier, dat dagelijks plaatsvindt tussen 03.15 en 03.30h ’s nachts, laat men de kraan openstaan om vervolgens te genieten van het geluid van stromend water. Een dure aangelegenheid maar het is het meer dan waard.
Echter blijkt dat niet de gemiddelde Zutphenees geniet van dit waterkwartier, maar dat de inbrekers er van profiteren. In 3 maanden tijd is er op verschillende plekken in Zutphen ingebroken, waarna er in de vroege ochtend een natte douchecel werd aangetroffen. Na buurtonderzoek bleek dat verschillende buren het gekletter van de douche hebben gehoord, maar niet hebben ingegrepen omdat het tijdens het waterkwartier plaatsvond. De politie roept dan ook op om verdacht gekletter en gedruppel te melden.
